Driving Information

The mode of transport in Bhutan is by road for most of the time. And few years back, the Royal Government has opened three domestic airports at Bumthang in centeral Bhutan, Yongphula in the east and Sarpang in the south. Over the years, the two airports have been operational and the Druk Air and Tashi Air have been operating in all this routes. Now the government has shutdown the airports at Yongphula and Sarpang. Major facelifting is underway at two airports to meet the civil avialtion standared. Still, then the motorable roads are well maintained and however the mountainous terrain and winding road along the national high ways, the driving speed is restrict to about 35 km per hour.
